Daily Ritual: A Ceramic Cup Show
November 8, 2014– December 27, 2014
Saxonburg Area Artists Co-op Gallery

The Saxonburg Area Artists Co-op, Saxonburg PA is hosting an exhibition exploring how regional ceramic artists interpret and use the daily cup. The exhibition will focus on each artist’s personal style and their choice of materials. The goal is to offer a collection of the wide array of approaches in making the humble cup and its place in daily rituals. An opening reception is planned for November 8, 6:30-8:30.

 

Eligibility: Potters of/from Central and Western PA, West Virginia and Ohio.
Please submit only original work that has been completed in the last three (3) years.

The Saxonburg Area Artists Coop Gallery reserves the right to reject any work that is not suitably prepared for exhibition.

 

Registration fee:

$10 payable to SAAC. Entries delivered without fee will not be exhibited.

 

Delivery and/or shipment of cup:

All artwork must arrive at designated delivery locations no later than October 13, 2014. You may include business cards. All shipping and insurance fees to the exhibition will be the responsibility of the artist. Please pack cups in a well-secured package (double boxed), with any special handling/packaging instructions clearly visible. Packaging will be reused for return pick-up/shipment. The Saxonburg Area Artists Co-op Gallery will pay for return shipping of all unsold work. If you are shipping work, please ship to:

Commission:
The Saxonburg Area Artists Co-op will receive a 30% commission on all works sold.

Photography

 The Saxonburg Area Artists Co-op reserves the right to photograph works, and use submitted photo materials of pieces for the purposes of documentation, education, publicity, promotion and future grant proposals.

Liability

Every precaution will be taken in handling the work(s). However, the Gallery and/or Saxonburg Areas Artists Cooperative will be held harmless and in no way be responsible for any damages or loss during transit to, during the exhibit or during the return of work(s). The gallery reserves the right not to exhibit work that is deemed too fragile or not suitably prepared for presentation. The Saxonburg Area Artists Co-op will insure all works for the duration of the show, and return shipping. Artists will be responsible for insuring work in transit to the galley. Submission of work to this exhibition shall constitute an agreement to conditions set forth in this prospectus and permission to reproduce work for the purposes of documentation, education, publicity and promotion.

 

Calendar:
Today-October 11- Email submission information
October 13- delivery of cups to locations listed.
November 8- Opening reception
December 30- exhibit closes. Notification of sales and unsold work. Commission checks will be sent by January 30, 2015.
December 30- January 10- pick up cups, arrange return shipment.
